The ideal candidate
will match New Testament teachings about an elder (see 1 Tim. 3:2-7, Titus 1:6-9, 1 Pet. 5:1-3):

he must be:
above reproach / blameless
the husband of one wife
sober-minded / temperate
self-controlled / disciplined
respectable
hospitable
able to teach
well thought of by outsiders
a lover of good
upright
holy
an example to the flock
he must not be:
a drunkard
violent — instead, gentle
quarrelsome / quick-tempered
a lover of money / greedy for gain
a recent convert
arrogant / overbearing
domineering / lording it over the flock
Also he must:
manage his own family well, seeing that his children obey him with proper respect / his children must believe, not open to the charge of being wild or disobedient
hold firmly to the trustworthy word as taught, being able to give instruction in sound doctrine and to rebuke those who contradict it
shepherd/pastor the flock, exercise oversight
serve willingly, not under compulsion
serve eagerly, not greedy for money.
will have obvious gifts of leadership and preaching that can be commended by others

In addition, he
will have pastoral experience (whether or not paid as such) that can be commended by others

will have a heart for outreach.

will relocate to Attleboro/North Attleboro, or near the area

will have a heart to stay and settle in the church long-term

will have a family orientation, as demonstrated by his own family life and priorities.

will have the humility to learn what God has done in the past in New Covenant Christian Fellowship (NCCF) and integrate it with what the Lord has put on his heart

will agree with NCCF’s covenant and statement of faith and appreciate its Reformed orientation in teaching and theology

will have the humility to grow and work with a team of elders who shepherd with him, and to grow in love of the whole body as the Lord has brought it together in NCCF

will have a heart to connect with other like-minded elders/pastors in the greater RI/MA area.
