Covenant of New Covenant Christian Fellowship

As believers in Jesus Christ, we joyfully and solemnly enter into covenant with one another.  This local fellowship of believers exists to glorify God (Eph.3:10) by showing His love, building up believers, and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We will make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Eph. 4:3)

Specifically, we covenant to walk together in the love of Christ (I Cor. 13).  We will strive to be honest and fair with each other, faithful to our commitments, and to be good examples by our behavior (I Thess. 1:4-10); to avoid all gossiping and sustained anger (2 Cor. 12:19-21); to willingly do without anything that might have the appearance of evil, cause a brother to stumble, or in any other way harm our testimony for Christ (I Thess. 5:22); to watch over one another in brotherly love (I Cor. 16:14); to remember each other in prayer (Eph. 6:18); to aid each other in sickness and trouble (James 2:14-17); to sympathize and speak courteously (I Thess. 5:15, Col 4:6); to be slow to take offense, but always ready to forgive (Matt. 18:21-35); to be peacemakers by quickly bringing people together when offenses occur within the body (James 3:18); to admonish one another with great patience, and to follow the instruction of our Savior in regard to church discipline (Matt. 18:15-20).

We also covenant to strive for the advancement of this assembly in love, knowledge and holiness (I Thess. 4:1-12); to promote its spirituality, regularly attend its services of worship and prayer (Heb. 10:19-25); to keep its ordinances of baptism and communion (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47), and support its practices and understandings (Acts 15:28); to pray for its leaders (Eph. 6:18); to contribute cheerfully and regularly in supporting the ministry, helping the poor and spreading the Gospel to all nations through missionaries (2 Cor. 9:6-15).

We further covenant that, if the Lord directs us to remove from this assembly, we will unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
